From John Winfield: If I take a 16 bit fits image and load it into Maxim then save it as floating point, when I attach it to pinpoint directly the detected stars change! This is without any processing on the image, just changing the file precision. If I load both the fp and 16bit files into Maxim and run pinpoint fromthere, the same number of stars is detected on each, which is the sameas from attaching the 16bit image to PinPoint directly. It just appears that attaching a floating point image to the pinpoint engine directly is giving odd results.
