Update: 8.1.3 has good docs, removal of the debug popups and is OK at Geoff Stone's and Grady's.

Problem: the repeat coults on ImageSet or Observation are not updated at early termination, leading to wildly high numbers for completed Plans in the Schedule Browser's tables.

This is it. Running well at Grady's giving to Chuck Cynamon for testing.

REOPENED

See this thread. My initial change in AcquireScheduler takes care of the case where a single ImageSet has "lots" of images. However the case where the Observation itself has a large Set Count is not handled. The Observation is repeatedly sent to ACP only to be quickly terminated for running beyond the forced end time.

This really needed to be handled in the Engine.

The killer will be all of the logic that monitors the Equatorial angles. If you slew in the "any PA" mode does the returned PA still correspond to Equatorial, or will this cause an apparent change in the PA Bias? If the latter this could become complicated.

Also mind the derotator limits as described in SCHEDULER-1675.

See this Comm Center thread by Lee Buck. Others have asked for this along the way as well. Generate a flat plan based on the observations that were done during the night. GIve the flat plan a name that contains the date, and modify the AutoFlat script to look for that before it looks for Default[xxx]Flat. Thus, these nightly flat plans will be saved "forever" and can be re-executed even through the web UI.

I don't know how to provide for the number of flats, maybe a Scheduler option. That option would need to be visible from ACP running scripts!!

Next dispatch round the Plan would simply be considered just like any other.

Another with Tolga Guver. However, this time I was able to capture a Profile file Scheduler.exe.xml with which I could duplicate the problem here. HOORAY!!!! It turns out to be a disconnect between the engine/sequencer (sim, day/night, mormal) and the clock/real time. Turns out that the Profile data was being loaded after the clock was initialized. Reversing the order fixed it. I had to move the logging of the efficiency coefficients until after the Profile and Clock were set because the logger requires the Clock object to be initialized.

Saw this at Tom Kracji's. When it happens, it looks like the dispatcher is in Simulated mode but if you look at the settings file Scheduler.exe.xml, you'll see that the engine/sequencer value is still 2 (ACP) and not 1 (simulator)! Next time it comes up with the simulated clock but also brings up ACP. After a couple of cycles of this all of a sudden it will write 1 to
engine/sequencer and it will work OK. Then you can switch back and forth OK!!!

See this followup message from Stephane. The variable naming in the original patch is affecting image set counts!

I think the problem was the hack for the ISO code: i think one of the variables i or j has been used somewhere in your update later on in the code. I changed those variables and declared them to isokol and testkol and than it seems to be working as it should.

  1. $IMGSEQ must be the last thing (per above)

This will require careful consideration: Should a Best Efforts Plan continue after an Observation fails? This might result in a cascade of Observation Failures if the failure is caused by something like a bad guide star or passing clouds. In the latter case it would be better to chew up the time doing a bad Observation, maybe the next one would be OK. Like I said, this'll require careful consideration!

Description
Several ideas here:
  1. Provide schedule for cal frames so can be done other than every day
  2. Automatically process calframes in MaxIm, convert to masters, Save in a "day" folder that is DropBox friendly
  3. Leave latest masters in MaxIm so AutoCal will work.
