Description 
Unbelievable idea -- See this Comm Center message from Stuart Wilson. He has changed the preview image logic to to the size reduction first then the prettifying. This really speeds it up. See ACP-1564

Oops, reported on Comm Center by Stephane Basa and seen in testing 8.2.2. Thumbnail is wrong scale. Fix this. 1-line error when reverting the change in May.
