This had to be hacked into AcquireSupport for Steve Reilly's system. In AcquireSupport.SetupAOBumping, the statement if(GEMWest) sv = RevY(sv); had to be negated: if(!GEMWest) sv = RevY(sv);
Closing, new switch added for this in ACP-626.
And again by Mike Miller, this time for Direct Guide with the Paramount.
See this Comm Center thread by Mel Helm. He has the ReverseY problem with the Chronos mount too.
From Ray Gralak: I understand your dilemma! One of the most common issues on the ap-gto forum is runaway autoguiding. Unfortunately Astro-Physics users can (and do sometimes) toggle the N/S and E/W movement directions via buttons on the AP hand controller or ASCOM driver. This affects both the PulseGuide commands and Relays. To get around this the latest versions AP V2 ASCOM driver tries to make sure the autoguider movement behavior is consistent across all AP mounts. On mounts with the latest versions of firmware there is a command that the driver uses to check if the RA or Dec autoguider directions have been reversed. If they have been, the driver sends commands to reset the appropriate direction(s). On mounts with older firmware it's a little trickier. Right before the very first slew is requested the AP V2 driver will issue a PulseGuide move in both RA and Dec and compare the starting RA/Dec to ending RA/Dec and use pier side to determine if the RA or Dec movement direction had been reversed by the user. If so the driver resets to the default. Using the start and end RA/Dec and pier side seems to be the most bulletproof method I have found for determining actual movement directions. Of course this counts on the AP mount's consistent behavior on a flip ("Dec moves" apparently change direction on pier flip).
Noting that this is on both wsides of the meridian. He is using an AP Mount. Just last night I had to do the same for Jimmy Walker's AP mount.
Reopened today. With ACP 7 this is still an issue on Steve's system. The Y is reversed on his system. He is using the guide relays. I tested on pulse guide and the Y reversal is there on that as well.
Ancient, no longer an issue, closing.
Steve posted a Comm Center note about the meaning of west/east... I'm wondering if his mount's west/east is reversed?
Needless to say, this is another one that needs more research and understanding. Linked to 478, another mystery. I've edited this into the source for 6.0 so Steve Reilly can find it.
