See this Comm Center thread by Colin Haig. If Astrometry.net fails to solve a plate, and thus PinPoint raises an error, Visual PinPoint doesn't handle it correctly. It displays the ugly useless PinPoint error code, then the correct error message, but clicking OK causes VPP to exit due to the unhandled error.
