See this Comm Center post by Bruce McMath.

I am monitoring about 160 individual variable stars. I don't have to image them every night but the more the better for most of them. With Fall what I am getting is a lot of nights with short sessions and because, all other things being equal, scheduler selects images alphabetically, I am getting repeated runs on the upper part of my list while the bottom is ignored. What i need is for the program to favor those that were last image further back in time. It will favor those that failed on a prior attempt but not those that were cued up but not gotten to. I think this is a real problem for any program monitoring a fairly fixed set of objects.
