See this Comm Center thread by Paul Gardner. There was no problem other than... the initial "max brightness" period is hardwired to 255 brightness... and that panel needs a much larger number. Thus it looked like the panel wasn't coming on, but it actually was. It was just really faint, and the tests were in a translucent dome during the day ha ha.
Add a "Max Brightness parameter to AutoFlatConfig for the "warm up" phase.
