See this multi-topic Comm Center thread by Forrest Sims. Detect Payer Matrix images, and do the object detection on a single plane or combine the plane (maybe better SNR, ask Doug). Then solve. Mind the plate scales though because the combine will reduce the resolution. Or maybe I am already producing the wrong arcsec/pixel??
